Thomas Walk began formally serving the disability community when he joined the Advisory Committee of the Junction Center for Independent Living.  He was on the Task Force that resulted in the creation of Clinch Independent Living Services, Inc.  After a year of  serving solely as legal counsel, he joined the Clinch Board in 1999.  He has served as Board Chair almost every year since.

Tom is a graduate of Virginia Tech and the Wake Forest University School of Law.  He practices with the firm of Altizer, Walk and White PLLC in Tazewell, Virginia. His practice focuses on domestic relations.  He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, Virginia Collaborative Professionals, and Collaborative Professionals of Roanoke.  He was formerly a hearing officer for Special Education Due Process hearings.

Tom is also active in the Tazewell Lions Club and the Bluefield Baseball Club.
