The EIP Stimulus Payment Prepaid Card
Some people, including some people who receive SSI or SSDI, are receiving the second round of stimulus payments (officially known as Economic Impact Payments) on a prepaid card. Because this form of payment is new, there have been many questions about whether the cards are legitimate. The cards are legitimate and can be used without fees.
The National Consumer Law Center has created a helpful resource with descriptions and pictures of the cards so you can confirm yours is legitimate. It also explains how to use the card without fees and what to do if you lose the card. Be sure to keep your card in case Congress authorizes additional stimulus payments in future months!
